Our Role
We provide members with: • best practice advice on the treatment of people in custody and the administration of prisons and immigration removal centres • information on developments in penal affairs • training advice • support - executive committee members have given support to IMB colleagues experiencing personal difficulties with their role • a helpline - members have access to specialist advice on problems related to IMB activities.
Each year several Training Days are held in different establishments in England and Wales. AMIMB's journal, Independent Monitor, is published three times a year and is free to members An annual general meeting and conference takes place each autumn.The AGM elects AMIMB’s executive committee which carries out the continuing business of the association during the year.
